My name is Talessia L. Martin I am the Founder and CEO of Healing Hearts Foundation.  I'm 35 years old with two beautiful, handsome sons. I came up this organization because I have had a troubling past as a child and as an adult. As a child I was in and out of foster homes and also suffered from mental, physical, and sexual abuse by the hands of me and others. I've been to prison 3 times and I know the effects of leaving your kids and the pain that everyone suffers behind going to prison. My life was out of control. 

 

One day I made a choice to either live a life of crime and become a revolving door for prison or use what I've been through to help and encourage others. I chose to turn my life around and become the women that God intended for me to be and start walking in my purpose. I'm currently at Lorain Community College majoring in Public Administration and Nonprofit Organization.  

 

I have chosen to use my personal pass life experiences to help others. If I can help change one life then I can change a future to something that is promising. Our youth and community is crying out for help. It's time to take a stand and make a difference and give hope to those that are in need. I'm building this foundation on faith, dedication and hard working people that are ready to impact lives of others. If I can stop someone from going down a path of destruction like I was then I know I can sleep at night knowing I made a difference. I love you all and I hope I can help make a impact in the Cleveland, Ohio and all over the world!
